Contract

Job Reference: CR/100377

Take on a long-term contract role with weekly pay, a van and fuel card provided, and consistent work as a Gas Engineer, carrying out planned kitchen programme works across Northampton. This role offers the opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering compliant gas works within social housing.

You’ll be working in occupied properties, supporting a planned kitchen installation programme and ensuring all gas safety checks and testing are completed before handover. If you’re looking for steady work, organised programmes, and a reliable contractor, this could be a great opportunity for an experienced Gas Engineer.

I’d love to speak to anyone who has worked as a Gas Engineer, Heating Engineer, or Domestic Gas Installer within social housing or similar environments.

As a Gas Engineer, you will be:

  • Completing Gas Safe checks before works begin in each property
  • Carrying out first-fix plumbing connections to suit new kitchen sink layouts
  • Returning to complete gas tightness testing and final leak checks before handover
  • Providing compliance documentation and required paperwork

Work is scheduled around a rolling programme of around 5 kitchens per week, with approximately 30 kitchens initially (around 6 weeks of work). This is a job-and-knock style role, although the Gas Engineer may occasionally be required to return to site if issues arise.

I’d love to speak to anyone who has:

  • Valid Gas Safe registration
  • Domestic ACS qualifications
  • CSCS card (Skilled preferred)
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • Experience working in occupied social housing / planned works environments

The role is offering the following benefits:

  • Competitive day rate (market rate)
  • Job and knock working pattern
  • Initial 6-week programme with potential follow-on work for a reliable Gas Engineer

Location & travel

This Gas Engineer role is based across Northampton and surrounding areas, offering consistent local work across a planned kitchen programme within social housing properties.
