FULL DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Temporary Accommodation Manager to lead, coordinate, and performance-manage a remote team of Specialised Supported Housing Officers (SSHOs) delivering a Ministry of Justice CAS3 contract across a defined geographical region. This Temporary Accommodation Manager role is a fast-paced, high-pressure role requires hands-on leadership, operational oversight, and the ability to maintain exceptional standards of support for residents with complex needs and vulnerabilities.

Key Responsibilities of a Temporary Accommodation Manager role:

  • Lead, motivate, and performance-manage a team of 7–10 field-based SSHOs to ensure full delivery of the CAS3 contract within your region.
  • Support, challenge, and coach SSHOs to deliver high-quality resident engagement, move-ins, inductions, and ongoing support.
  • Monitor, analyse, and collate operational data, identifying trends, exceptions, and opportunities to improve performance.
  • Conduct line management duties including recruitment, onboarding, appraisals, absence management, and expenses oversight, ensuring consistent project coverage.
  • Take ownership of operational challenges, resolving issues efficiently and ensuring KPIs, performance targets, and contractual obligations are consistently met.
  • Maintain compliance with service specifications, reporting requirements, and safeguarding protocols, responding swiftly to emergency situations.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with MOJ commissioners, Probation Service teams, Homelessness Prevention teams, landlords, local charities, and partner agencies.
  • Attend operational and governance meetings, representing the business professionally and contributing to strategic development of CAS3 services.
  • Oversee regional property stock and manage allocation, compliance, and governance standards.
  • Maintain strict financial control over regional expenses, adhering to company policies and processes.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance team culture, recognising achievements, building strong relationships, and sharing best practice across regions.

What We'd Love To See From You:

  • Proven leadership and management experience, ideally with remote or field-based teams.
  • Strong operational experience within fast-paced supported housing, CAS3 or similar MOJ contracts.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Confident and professional communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • Highly organised, able to prioritise competing demands, and maintain accuracy under pressure.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and ICT systems for performance monitoring and reporting.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.
  • Enhanced Disclosure check required.
