Business Engagement Officer

SkillsHouse is Bradford’s education and skills partnership gateway for business engagement, seeking a Business Engagement Officer to facilitate sector-based partnerships with employers and jobseekers. The role involves developing a skilled labour pool, designing recruitment solutions, and driving continuous improvement for the district.

Job Introduction

SkillsHouse is Bradford’s education and skills partnership gateway for business engagement, responsible for triaging enquiries, identifying potential new customers and managing relationships to support businesses to understand their challenges and introduce them to partnership-based solutions and products to support them grow, creating new opportunities for education and training providers, in turn creating new opportunities for students and employers.

SkillsHouse is a creative and constructive partnership of [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk], and the University of Bradford, FE partners, Community partners, and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority working together to progress the design and implementation of an all-age careers and employment service. This exciting opportunity will be at the heart of achieving our ambition of building a more inclusive, sustainable and productive economy in Bradford.

[Employer hidden] and partners are seeking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Business Engagement Officer to join SkillsHouse which has been upscaling rapidly since the Covid-19 recession which led to a large proportion of job losses and unemployment. SkillsHouse looks to address the skill gaps in the local labour market as well as to ultimately improve underlying employment and economic outcomes for Bradford residents and employers.

This role will be at the heart of partnership working leading on sector-specific initiatives with a focus on improving business and inclusive employer outcomes. The main purpose of the role will be to establish, grow, and facilitate sector-based, demand and outcome-driven, effective partnerships with employers and jobseekers. Developing a skilled labour pool of potential jobseekers ready to meet the needs of local businesses, securing sustainable employment. To develop effective solutions for local employers to meet their hiring and workforce development needs and generate innovative pathways into employment and workforce development.  To facilitate business engagement between businesses and jobseekers, ensuring alignment between labour market needs and candidate readiness. Develop a skills talent pipeline by working closely with training providers, employment services and community stakeholders to ensure jobseekers find sustainable employment. Design innovative recruitment solutions that address workforce gaps, support upskilling, and promote long-term career progression. Deliver tailored solutions to employers of the Bradford District to meet recruitment and workforce needs. Championing inclusive practice with employers and drive continuous improvement for the District.
