FULL DESCRIPTION

Role Summary and Purpose

- The role is for a qualified actuary, focused on supporting the capital management of [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] International.
- Ensure compliance with all industry legislation, regulation, codes of practice, guidance and Arch Group controls relevant to the role
- Assist Arch Senior Management in evaluating strategic business choices on the basis of capital considerations
- Embed Arch International’s capital model in the business

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

- Assist the Head of Capital to manage day-to-day activities of the capital team in light of all regulatory and other deadlines
- Provide people management to direct reports and/or technical support to junior members of the team
- Assist in managing third party communication in light of process improvement process and other projects as required
- Assist Head of Capital with moving beyond regulatory capital requirement calculations and ad hoc outward reinsurance assessment

Role Requirements & Skills

Skills / Competencies

- Qualified Actuary with at least 3 years post qualification experience
- Technical leader with detailed knowledge of stochastic modelling techniques and insurance to maintain, run and develop the capital model
- People manager
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of PRA / Lloyd’s requirements

Qualifications

- Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, or equivalent

Experience

- Experienced Capital Management Actuary
- Experienced people manager
- Good working experience of capital modelling software experience. Tyche experience is desirable but not necessary.
