Job Title – Quantity Surveyor   

Their Purpose – A dynamic UK-wide specialist delivering total mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across every stage from survey and design, through installation to commissioning and aftercare. They partner with leading clients in public, private and industrial sectors to build smarter, more efficient systems - from high-voltage power networks to data-fibre installations, modular build and off-site fabrication.

Location &, flexibility – West Lothian or Leeds based – Hybrid working with occasional site visits, overnight stays and travel to office when needed.   

Salary & Benefits: Up to £60k + car allowance, 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays), Extra ½ day off for your birthday, 5% Employer Pension Contribution, Couples Health Care

About the Job –

As Quantity Surveyor, you will take full commercial ownership of projects within the HV / Solar Division, acting as commercial lead from project inception through to completion.

You will work closely with the Commercial Director and Service Delivery teams to ensure strong commercial governance, accurate reporting, and profitable project delivery, while maintaining excellent client relationships to support repeat business.

  • Acting as commercial lead across HV and Solar projects
  • Producing monthly commercial reports across CVRs, cashflow, accruals and forecasts
  • Interrogating financial data and presenting findings clearly with risk identification and action plans
  • Supporting the delivery teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Maintaining strong client relationships and supporting repeat business opportunities
  • Working autonomously with structured senior leadership reviews
  • Contributing to the overall performance and growth of the division

About you -

You will be an experienced building services-focused Quantity Surveyor with a strong grounding in M&E commercial delivery and a track record of managing profitable contracts.

Essential experience includes:

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
  • 3–5+ years post-graduate experience operating at Project QS or Senior QS level
  • Background within M&E building services contractors (essential)
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT and Schedule of Rates contracts
  • Ability to convert estimates into client SORs
  • Experience working within main contractor or building services environments
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial acumen
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work autonomously
  • Willingness to share knowledge and contribute positively within a team
