Job Title – Senior Electrical Project Engineer  

Their Purpose – An employee-owned high-voltage electrical engineering company specialising in power infrastructure, grid connections, and renewable energy generation. Location &, flexibility – Office based – Glasgow with some travel to sites when required.

About the Job –

As a Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will join an established projects team delivering large-scale electrical infrastructure and renewable energy projects. You will provide exemplary project management throughout the full project lifecycle - from concept and design through to commissioning - ensuring technical excellence, commercial control, and client satisfaction.

  • Manage all phases of electrical infrastructure projects to ensure delivery on time and within budget
  • Lead, mentor, and coach project engineers, fostering development and technical excellence
  • Oversee project finances, budgets, and procurement including competitive tendering
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards across all projects
  • Coordinate design, installation, and commissioning with internal and external stakeholders
  • Attend site meetings, client briefings, and factory acceptance tests
  • Collaborate with in-house engineering teams on layouts, cable schedules, and commissioning procedures
  • Manage logistics of materials and equipment
  • Maintain strong client and supplier relationships, acting as a trusted technical partner
  • Represent the business professionally and proactively contribute to process improvement

About you -

- Minimum 5 years’ experience managing electrical or utility projects - Proven track record delivering projects valued £1–10 million - Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills - Degree or HND in Electrical / Project Engineering (HV systems experience preferred) - Working towards or achieved IET professional registration (IEng / CEng) - Excellent planning, commercial, and reporting skills - Proficient in MS Office with strong technical and financial acumen - Adaptable, resilient, and proactive, with full UK driving licence
