FULL DESCRIPTION

Senior Residential Children’s Worker

We are working in partnership with a provider of children’s services to recruit a Senior Residential Children’s Worker for their home in Wigan, Greater Manchester. You will be part of a dedicated team supporting children with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) within a nurturing residential environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead shifts and ensure the welfare and safety of young people and staff at all times.
  • Participate in staff meetings and supervisions.
  • Support with staff performance and ensure the team are updated on procedural changes.
  • Deliver person-centred support in line with individual care plans.
  • Safeguard vulnerable children and report any concerns appropriately.
  • Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals.
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism are maintained at all times.
  • Be flexible to cover other homes when required.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and training.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Experience within the children’s residential care sector.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
