SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) required, Leeds!

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Group are currently looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA). We are working with a mainstream Secondary School in Leeds who are looking to recruit multiple experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to work within KS3- KS4 supporting both the full classes and also specific pupils at different points of the week.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) you will support pupils to Secondary aged students who have general SEN support needs, and pupils who have Autism and ADHD who requires extra support with learning.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) you will support both the class teachers in full class/small group work and also parts of the week on a 1:1 basis with the specific young people in the hub.

This role is a Temporary role starting ASAP, working full time Monday to Friday.

The Role:

  • Working both in full class support.
  • Be able to adapt to the needs of the child in lessons and assist them in their school day.
  • Promote positive behaviour and encourage the children to stay on task.
  • Clarifying and explaining any questions or instructions given to the pupil.
  • Support the class teacher with any additional duties.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with people with learning difficulties is essential.
  • Experience in a SEN education setting is ideal.
  • Team Teach training is desirable but not essential.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to carry one out.
  • Phonics training/knowledge desirable.
  • Candidate must have a caring, calm nature.
