This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for strengthening quality assurance, clinical governance, regulatory readiness, and improvement activity across our care homes and care at home services.

[Employer hidden] Group is recruiting a Registered Nurse to join our team as Group Quality & Governance Manager. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role responsible for strengthening quality assurance, clinical governance, regulatory readiness, and improvement activity across our care homes and care at home services.

Working alongside Regional Managers, senior operational colleagues and support functions, the postholder will provide independent quality oversight while supporting services directly to embed improvement and deliver consistently high standards of care.

The role requires regular travel across Central and North Scotland and includes responsibility for ensuring quality improvement activity is aligned with organisational priorities, resource planning, and service sustainability.

You will lead the Group Quality Team, contribute to organisational strategy, and ensure governance systems support safe, effective, and person-centred care across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the organisation’s quality assurance and governance framework
  • Provide clinical governance oversight across services
  • Support services before, during, and after Care Inspectorate inspections
  • Translate organisational quality strategy into practical improvement plans
  • Lead thematic reviews and organisation-wide quality improvement initiatives
  • Embed learning from incidents, audits, complaints, and inspection outcomes
  • Oversee development and implementation of quality-related policies and tools
  • Support effective use of electronic systems (e.g. quality platforms, digital care planning, eMAR, rota systems)
  • Produce assurance reports and quality dashboards for senior leadership and Board review
  • Identify and escalate organisational quality and clinical risks with clear recommendations
  • Lead organisational quality governance forums and contribute to operational performance reviews
  • Lead and develop the Group Quality function, setting and monitoring KPIs
  • Manage budgets assigned to the Quality & Governance function and ensure resources are aligned to organisational priorities
  • Contribute to organisational performance reporting by linking quality indicators with operational and financial performance
  • Support oversight of improvement investment and regulatory risk mitigation activity across services
  • Work collaboratively with Regional Managers and the Operations Director to ensure quality improvement activity supports occupancy stability, workforce sustainability, agency reduction, and service performance

Essential Requirements

  • Be a Registered Nurse with active NMC registration
  • Have strong experience in clinical governance within care home services
  • Demonstrate senior-level experience supporting inspection readiness and service improvement
  • Understand the Care Inspectorate Quality Framework and Scottish Social Care Standards
  • Have experience leading implementation of electronic systems such as quality governance platforms, digital care planning, eMAR, or workforce rostering
  • Have experience contributing to organisational performance reporting and aligning improvement activity with service sustainability and resource planning
  • Be willing and able to travel regularly across Central and North Scotland, including overnight stays
  • Hold a full UK driving licence
