Development Surveyor - Viability and Economics

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is partnering with a highly regarded, independent consultancy specialising in planning, development, and environmental services, as they look to expand their Development Economics team in London. Working alongside industry-leading professionals, you will support the delivery of complex and varied schemes across residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors. You will play a key role in providing evidence-based advice, analysing data, and supporting development viability work, while engaging with clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities:

• Supporting development viability assessments and financial modelling
• Analysing planning policy, legislation, and site-specific data
• Assisting in the preparation of reports on affordable housing, infrastructure, and housing delivery
• Contributing to development appraisals and housing strategies
• Supporting bids, proposals, and project budget management
• Attending meetings, site visits, and stakeholder consultations
• Assisting with client engagement and wider business development activity

Skills and experience required:

• A relevant degree and working towards or already achieved RICS Chartered Level
• An understanding of the factors influencing projects and commercial decisions, the functioning of housing market and have development viability knowledge
• Proven experience of preparing basic reports, analysing data and basic statistical analysis concepts
• Can demonstrate professionalism and strong personal qualities, including sound judgement, integrity, accountability, attention to detail, a solid work ethic, and the ability to present confidently and articulately.
• Can work effectively both independently and as part of a team, engaging positively with colleagues, collaborating well across groups.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office and other IT packages.
