About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Development Director to join a well-capitalised, institutionally backed real estate platform, delivering a significant pipeline of living sector schemes across the UK.

This role will take full responsibility for the delivery of c.£450m of residential-led developments over the next three years. Working directly with senior leadership, you will act as the internal lead across multiple projects, overseeing the full construction lifecycle from pre-construction through to practical completion.

The initial portfolio includes a mix of Build to Sell and Build to Rent schemes across key regional locations, alongside a major mixed-use scheme progressing through planning. You will be responsible for driving programme, managing budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the delivery of multiple residential-led schemes through construction to completion
  • Managing and coordinating external consultants, contractors and advisors
  • Negotiating and executing construction contracts (including PCSA and JCT)
  • Overseeing programme, cost control and risk management
  • Reporting into senior stakeholders and capital partners on project performance
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships across the development and delivery ecosystem

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A strong track record delivering residential or living sector developments (BTR, BTS, mixed-use)
  • Experience operating on the developer or fund side, with full lifecycle exposure
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including consultants, contractors and partners
  • Strong commercial and contractual understanding, particularly across construction procurement
  • A hands-on, accountable approach, with the ability to operate autonomously in a lean environment

This is a high-impact role within a growing platform, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a substantial pipeline and play a key role in shaping delivery strategy going forward.
