Senior Technical Surveyor (Subsidence)

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is looking for a skilled, motivated professional to join our specialist subsidence division — someone who thrives on complex problem‑solving, enjoys autonomy, and wants to make a real impact for clients and policyholders. This is a home‑based role with UK travel mostly London & surrounding areas , offering the freedom to manage your own workload while being part of a supportive, expert team.

What will your day look like:

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing complex subsidence investigations from first visit to final resolution
  • Visiting damaged properties to assess structural, technical and insurance‑related issues
  • Designing and overseeing stabilisation schemes and repair strategies
  • Producing high‑quality technical reports, specifications and tender documents
  • Interpreting geotechnical investigations and advising on foundation solutions
  • Administering building contracts, valuations and variations
  • Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations, Planning, CDM and Party Wall legislation
  • Working closely with policyholders, insurers, loss adjusters, contractors and local authorities
  • Supporting and mentoring colleagues, and contributing to training delivery
  • Maintaining accurate case records and meeting service level expectations

You’ll also play a key role in strengthening client relationships and supporting other [Employer hidden] divisions when needed.

Knowledge and Abilities:

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone with the technical depth and confidence to handle highly complex subsidence cases. You’ll ideally have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Surveying or a related discipline
  • Strong experience in subsidence investigation and building pathology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, organised approach and the ability to work independently
  • A flexible mindset and the resilience to thrive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Solid understanding of buildings insurance, contract administration and construction law
  • A full, clean UK driving licence
