FULL DESCRIPTION

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] are seeking an Assistant File Handler to join our Abuse and Social Care Team. This team have been involved in many precedent-setting cases and regularly handle cases in the appellate courts. You will be working on complex claims of considerable sensitivity and profile with a varied caseload of defendant abuse and social care claims and litigation.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assist file handlers in progressing the files.

  • Review and analysis of relevant documents

  • Analysis of liability, quantum and causation

  • Client liaison

  • Compliance with court directions and timetables.

  • Drafting documents and correspondence to clients/court/witnesses/claimants solicitors

  • Instructing and liaising with Counsel/experts

  • Completing and updating MI

  • Achieve a chargeable target

  • Assisting with the preparation of document bundles for hearings

  • Compliance with client SLAs

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Demonstrable understanding of clients, colleagues and others

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and to work under pressure

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • Adherence to guidelines and procedures

  • The ability to work as part of a team and independently

  • Previous experience of abuse or social care claims is desirable but not essential

  • Previous experience of personal injury work is desirable but not essential.
