[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] Company is seeking a German-speaking Staff Accountant to join their team in London. This hybrid role involves preliminary to intermediate analysis of accounting data, invoice analysis, and participation in marketing events. Candidates should have a degree in Accounting, professional-level German communication skills, and be willing to work towards a professional qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preliminary to intermediate analysis of sales, production and other accounting data
  • Physical inventory observation, price testing
  • Examination of source documents pertinent to engagement
  • Check and proof reports and schedules
  • Conduct phone, video or in person interviews to obtain information
  • Research, data analysis and evaluation
  • Invoice analysis
  • Attend marketing events and functions with clients
  • Adhoc tasks as per business requirements

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

  • Soon to be, or recent Bachelors and/or Masters degree graduate, ideally in Accounting (or similar)
  • Previous internship or paid-work experience in a professional environment (finance-related, advantageous)
  • The ability to communicate at a professional level in both written and verbal German
  • Working towards, or willingness to work towards a professional qualification such as ACA, CIMA
  • Ability to understand (or previous experience of) how loss events impact a business
  • Demonstrable attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Tenacious in solving problems and getting to the root cause of issues
  • Good communication skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and in sometimes pressurised environments
  • Willingness to accept increasing responsibility as experience grows
  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Outlook & MS Teams
