FULL DESCRIPTION

Join one of the UK and Ireland’s most respected insurance law teams and take your career to the next level. This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious solicitor to work on complex, high-value and often life-changing cases — from catastrophic injuries to high-value motor and casualty claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Lead Lawyer to manage high court and catastrophic injury claims (including brain injury, spinal cord injury, amputation and fatal accident cases).
  • Handle your own caseload of high-value complex injury claims, driving them from instruction to resolution.
  • Engage directly with senior claims handlers at leading insurers — building strong, trusted relationships.
  • Apply your analytical expertise to dissect complex medical and quantum evidence, identify key issues and shape expert strategy.
  • Draft high-quality technical advice across indemnity, liability, quantum and causation.
  • Conduct witness interviews, prepare statements, draft pleadings and attend conferences, mediations and Joint Settlement Meetings.
  • Take an active role in mentoring and developing junior colleagues.
  • Ensure case management systems are updated and compliant with LSNI regulations.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

You’ll be a qualified solicitor with a passion for high-quality litigation and a solid grounding in indemnity, liability and quantum. You’ll thrive in an intellectually challenging environment where no two cases are the same.

Key skills and experience include:

  • Proven track record managing complex injury or large loss claims
  • Experience analysing medical and expert evidence
  • Strong written and verbal advocacy skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot trends and anomalies
  • Client-focused mindset and confidence in handling senior client relationships
  • Calm, proactive approach under pressure and an appetite to keep learning
