Salary: £40,000-£42,000pa (depending on experience & qualifications)
Days/Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday (shifts between 7:30am–6pm)
Contract: All Year Round / Permanent
We’re looking for a passionate Nursery Manager to lead our 32-place nursery in the heart of Cuckfield, surrounded by fields, greenery, and our very own Forest School area.
Our setting provides a stimulating environment for children aged 0–5, with dedicated spaces for under 2s and preschoolers, supporting strong bonds between staff and children. This is an exciting opportunity to manage a close-knit nursery team and shape the future of a dynamic, child-centred setting that values outdoor learning, creativity, and exploration.

Responsibilities
- • Lead and inspire the nursery team, ensuring the highest standard of care and EYFS delivery
- • Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, maintaining strong safeguarding practices
- • Build professional partnerships with parents, carers, and external agencies
- • Oversee health, safety, and compliance within the setting
- • Plan and support engaging, inclusive activities for children aged 0–5
- • Monitor and record children’s progress, tailoring individual development plans
- • Manage daily operations, staff development, and high-quality practice
About You
• Previous Nursery Manager or strong Deputy Manager experience
• Minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification
- • Strong leadership and team management skills
- • Excellent knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding & health and safety
- • Passion for early years education and outdoor learning
- • Confident communicator with parents, staff, and the wider community
- • Eligible to work in the UK
