Position: Full time

Contract: Maternity cover, 1 year

The International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) is a defence and security think tank that has a deep understanding of regional geopolitics and geo-economics in a global context. Its international researchers provide best-in-class independent and impartial analysis and provide insights on strategic challenges and priorities to governments and the private sector. It is expert at bringing together national leaders and senior policymakers in foreign policy, defence and security; promoting dialogue; and facilitating effective and influential bilateral and multilateral consultations.

The IISS are seeking to appoint a qualified Senior Management Accountant with experience to support the finance function. This is a hands-on role which will be reporting to the Head of Finance.

Responsibilities:

• Management accounts, preparation and reconciliations of accruals, prepayments, and fixed assets monthly.
• Reconciling and processing endowments held.
• Grant reporting to external funders.
• Budgeting and quarterly forecasting.
• Year end audit and reporting.
• Support with the implementation of a new finance system.

Requirements:

• Qualified Accountant.
• Previous Charity experience is desirable.
• Demonstrable experience in a finance role.
