FULL DESCRIPTION

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking to appoint dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Staff to join our inclusive and learner-focused support team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are committed to enabling learners with additional needs to access education successfully, develop independence and achieve their personal and academic goals.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • provide effective support to learners with additional needs in lessons and across the wider college environment
  • promote learner independence, confidence, engagement and achievement
  • enable learners to develop strategies and skills that support participation and long-term success
  • work collaboratively with teaching staff and support teams to implement appropriate support approaches
  • contribute to a positive, inclusive and aspirational learning environment
  • support learner wellbeing and uphold safeguarding responsibilities at all times
  • maintain appropriate records and contribute to reviews of learner progress and support arrangements

Essential Requirements

The ideal candidate will have

  • effective communication and teamwork skills
  • a professional, proactive and solution-focused approach
  • high expectations for what learners can achieve
  • a willingness to undertake further professional development, including the Level 5 apprenticeship opportunity where applicable

Previous experience of supporting young people, adults or learners with additional needs would be advantageous, although applicants with the right values, potential and commitment will also be welcomed.
