Job Description

Job title: Mental Healthcare Assistant - Day Shifts

Location: Swansea

Salary: £18 - £35 P/H

The role

  • Assist patients with daily living such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Aid in patient mobility, transfers, and positioning to prevent pressure ulcers
  • Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Serve meals and assist with feeding when necessary
  • Help maintain a clean and organised patient environment, including changing linens and tidying rooms
  • Provide emotional support to patients and families, offering companionship and empathy
  • Assist with basic medical procedures, such as wound dressing changes and catheter care
  • Transport patients within the facility for tests, procedures, or appointments
  • Document patient information and report changes in condition to nursing staff
  • Restock supplies, maintain equipment, and assist with administrative tasks to ensure efficient healthcare operations
