Primary Teacher – Durham (Full-Time)
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Durham. As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, supporting pupils’ academic progress, and fostering their personal development. The successful Primary Teacher will play a key role in creating a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons as a Primary Teacher in line with the national curriculum.
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and support learning.
- As a Primary Teacher, adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and pupil wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support pupil development.
- Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment activities.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A valid Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Proven experience teaching the primary curriculum – essential.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for primary education.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- A nurturing and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
