Primary Teacher – Durham (Full-Time)

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic Primary Teacher who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and creating an engaging learning environment where all pupils can thrive.

As a Primary Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a broad and balanced curriculum, supporting pupils’ academic progress, and fostering their personal development. The successful Primary Teacher will play a key role in creating a positive classroom environment that encourages curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons as a Primary Teacher in line with the national curriculum.
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, using data to inform teaching and support learning.
  • As a Primary Teacher, adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, and pupil wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support pupil development.
  • Contribute to the wider school community and enrichment activities.
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and school policies are followed at all times.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • A valid Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
  • Proven experience teaching the primary curriculum – essential.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for primary education.
  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
  • A nurturing and adaptable approach to teaching and learning.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
