Year 3 Teacher – Chatham (Maternity Cover | September 2026 – July 2027)
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 3 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Chatham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a committed practitioner to take on a Year 3 Teacher role covering a maternity leave from September 2026 through to July 2027.
As a Year 3 Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that support pupils’ academic progress and personal development. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children are encouraged to thrive, build confidence, and develop a love of learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and well-structured lessons as a Year 3 Teacher in line with the national curriculum.
- Support pupils’ progress through effective assessment, feedback, and adaptive teaching strategies.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- As a Year 3 Teacher, ensure all pupils, including those with SEND, are supported through differentiation and tailored approaches.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning, and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support pupil development.
- Contribute to the wider school community and uphold safeguarding practices at all times.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A valid Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.
- Experience as a Year 3 Teacher or within Key Stage 2 (ECTs and experienced teachers welcome to apply).
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for primary education.
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills.
- A nurturing and enthusiastic approach to teaching and learning.
- A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting all learners.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
