Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the assigned teacher, ensuring pupils remain on task.
  • Deliver pre-prepared work and instructions clearly, supporting pupils to complete their learning objectives.
  • Manage classroom behaviour effectively, promoting a positive and respectful learning atmosphere.
  • Respond to immediate pupil needs and provide appropriate assistance, escalating issues to relevant staff when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of pupil attendance and any significant incidents during lessons.
  • Liaise with teaching staff and senior leaders to ensure seamless continuity of learning and pastoral care.

About You

  • Possess previous experience working with young people, ideally within a secondary school environment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with pupils and staff.
  • Exhibit strong classroom management abilities, maintaining discipline and engagement effectively.
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and able to respond calmly and efficiently to various classroom situations.
  • Hold a genuine passion for supporting pupil development and fostering a positive educational experience.
  • Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
