Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Physics lessons across key stages, with the ability to teach Chemistry up to Key Stage 4.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing constructive feedback to support their academic development.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching strategies that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Contribute actively to the wider life of the science department, including curriculum development and extra-curricular activities.
  • Maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment that encourages independent thought and scientific inquiry.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to share best practice and ensure a cohesive approach to teaching and learning.

About You

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and possess a relevant degree in Physics or a closely related scientific discipline.
  • Demonstrate a genuine passion for Physics and Chemistry, inspiring students with your subject knowledge and enthusiasm.
  • Be an Early Career Teacher (ECT), or an experienced teacher (MPS/UPS), committed to continuous professional development.
  • Possess excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and productive learning atmosphere.
  • Have a strong understanding of the secondary science curriculum and effective pedagogical approaches.
  • Be a proactive and collaborative team player, eager to contribute to a supportive departmental culture.
