Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise pupils effectively in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.
  • Deliver pre-set work, providing clear instructions and facilitating pupil understanding.
  • Implement robust behaviour management strategies in line with school policies, promoting respect and positive conduct.
  • Respond proactively to pupil questions and provide appropriate support to keep them on task.
  • Liaise effectively with teaching staff regarding pupil progress and any issues encountered during lessons.
  • Ensure all administrative tasks related to cover, such as registration, are completed accurately.

About You

  • You possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with pupils and staff.
  • You demonstrate strong organisational abilities and can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have a proactive and adaptable approach, comfortable with varying classroom dynamics and subject matter.

  • Previous experience in a school or similar youth-focused setting is highly desirable, though transferable skills will be considered.
