Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to primary pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging, differentiated learning activities.
  • Help create and maintain a positive, stimulating, and safe learning environment for all children.
  • Monitor pupil progress, recording observations and contributing to review meetings.
  • Support pupils' social and emotional development, promoting independence and confidence.
  • Facilitate communication between pupils, teachers, and parents/carers where appropriate.

About You

  • Possess a genuine passion for working with primary-aged children and supporting their diverse needs.
  • Hold relevant experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs, ideally within a mainstream primary setting.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, building strong relationships with pupils and colleagues.
  • Exhibit patience, empathy, and resilience when facing daily challenges.
  • Be proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a dedicated team.
  • Understand safeguarding principles and commitment to promoting pupil welfare.
