FULL DESCRIPTION

Senior Geotechnical Engineer (Birmingham + Hybrid)

We’re looking to strengthen our Geotechnical Team and capabilities. If you are seeking a new role as a Geotechnical Engineer at any level from Senior to Principal, we can offer a role which will enhance your experience and further your development.

ROLE OVERVIEW

  • Production of drawings, calculations, reports, and design documents, including: Desk studies, site inspections, earthworks specifications and interpretative reports
  • Experience of geoenvironmental reporting, particularly Tier 2 and 3 analyses, options appraisals and remediation strategies and verification would be beneficial
  • Contribute to the planning and procurement of ground investigations
  • Analysis of geotechnical data, preparation of ground models, design and reporting on foundations, retaining walls, slope stability and stabilisation, and ground improvement.
  • Independently use design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GEO5
  • Knowledge of the implementation of the designers’ duties as required under CDM (2015)
  • Follow and contribute to [Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] procedures for completing work to the highest standard and adding value to the schemes we deliver
  • Coordinate with project engineers, engineering technicians and senior team involved in scheme delivery
  • Awareness of design guides and standards
  • Liaise with clients and third parties
  • Identify and manage risks within your area of responsibility
  • Complete site visits and investigations to review project constraints and the construction process as required within schemes

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Geology is essential
  • An MSc/MEng in Soil Mechanics, Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology would be an advantage
  • Chartered or working towards chartership with the Geological Society of London or Institution of Civil Engineers.

HIGH LEVEL TERMS

  • Salary: £30,000-£50,000 depending on experience, plus benefits package worth around £2,500
  • Hours: 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week, predominantly from our Birmingham or Manchester city centre office, with hybrid working available on agreement
  • Start date: ASAP
