Job Description

Teaching Assistants support learning within the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher. Support may include assisting with lesson delivery, providing small group or one-to-one input, and helping to maintain effective classroom routines. Flexibility, initiative, and clear communication are key when supporting pupils of varying abilities.

  • Provides classroom-based support during lessons.
  • Delivers small group or individual interventions.
  • Supports classroom organisation and resources.
  • Encourages positive behaviour and engagement.

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Level 2 qualification (or strong equivalent experience in a UK primary).
  • Clear, encouraging communication with pupils and adults.
  • Calm, proactive approach with genuine enthusiasm for learning.
  • Willingness to learn school systems (phonics schemes, assessment tools).
