Job Description
Working alongside class teachers and inclusion staff, SEND Teaching Assistants support pupils with additional needs. The focus is on providing tailored academic and emotional support, adapting tasks where needed, and helping pupils feel secure and confident in the classroom. Strong communication, patience, and consistency are essential, alongside a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
Supports pupils with SEND in lessons and structured interventions. Works closely with teachers to adapt learning activities. Promotes confidence, independence, and positive behaviour. Maintains safeguarding, care, and wellbeing standards.
Desired Experience + Qualifications
- Experience supporting children with SEND, either in education or care settings - Understanding of early years and primary education frameworks (EYFS, KS1, or KS2) - A nurturing, flexible, and patient attitude - Good communication and teamwork skills - Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
