FULL DESCRIPTION

Supporting pupils throughout the school day, SEND Teaching Assistants help create calm and structured learning environments. The focus is on providing tailored academic and emotional support, adapting tasks where needed, and helping pupils feel secure and confident in the classroom. Strong communication, patience, and consistency are essential, alongside a clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.

Job Description

Supports pupils with SEND in lessons and structured interventions.
Works closely with teachers to adapt learning activities.
Promotes confidence, independence, and positive behaviour.
Maintains safeguarding, care, and wellbeing standards.

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • Experience working with children who have SEND in education or care settings
  • Proven ability to provide 1‑to‑1 support and work in small groups
  • Patient, nurturing, dependable and able to build rapport quickly
  • Good communication and teamwork skills adaptable in changing classroom environments
