Job Description
A busy Secondary school in Coventry is seeking a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to support pupils whose behaviour occasionally impacts their engagement in lessons. You’ll work with students who benefit from calm guidance, predictable routines, and clear expectations throughout the school day. Your role will include providing in-class support, offering de-escalation guidance during challenging moments, and helping pupils transition back into lessons after incidents. Some pupils may struggle with emotional regulation; others benefit from structured reminders and reassurance to help them stay focused and engaged. You’ll play a key role in creating a calm, purposeful classroom environment. Working closely with teachers, safeguarding leads, and the wider pastoral team, you’ll help deliver a consistent, relationship-led approach to behaviour management.
