Facilities & Premises Assistant

A welcoming Primary school in Birmingham North is seeking a Facilities & Premises Assistant to support the upkeep, safety, and smooth operation of the school site. You’ll help ensure classrooms, corridors, playgrounds, and shared spaces are clean, safe, and functioning at their best each day. Your duties will include carrying out basic repairs, supporting routine maintenance, preparing rooms for lessons or events, assisting with site security, and helping manage deliveries. Some tasks will be planned, while others will arise spontaneously throughout the day — making this a role for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in being helpful. Working closely with the Site Manager and School Business Manager, you’ll support compliance checks, health and safety routines, and the day-to-day running of the premises. This role suits someone practical, friendly, and eager to help a school community thrive. Support daily maintenance, repairs, and site inspections. Assist with unlocking, locking, and site security routines. Help set up rooms, halls, and learning spaces. Support health and safety tasks and basic compliance checks.
