Job Description

A specialist SEND school in Oxfordshire is seeking a Key Worker to provide consistent, day-to-day support for pupils who benefit from having a trusted adult guiding them through routines, learning, and emotional regulation. You’ll work closely with children whose needs mean consistency and relationship-building are essential for engagement and progress. Your role will include daily check-ins, in-class support, and helping pupils navigate transitions throughout the school day. Some pupils may struggle with anxiety or regulation; others benefit from clear structure and reassurance to remain focused and settled. You’ll act as a steady presence, helping pupils feel understood and supported without creating dependency. Working alongside teachers, therapists, and the wider SEND team, you’ll help deliver joined-up support that prioritises wellbeing, inclusion, and gradual independence. This role suits someone reliable, empathetic, and confident building strong, trusting relationships with pupils. Act as a consistent point of support for allocated pupils. Provide daily check-ins and in-class guidance. Support emotional regulation and transitions. Work collaboratively with teaching and SEND teams.
