KS2 Teaching Assistant

Job Description

You’ll support pupils across KS2 lessons, helping them understand tasks, stay focused, and take steady steps forward. You’ll run small-group interventions, prepare simple learning resources, and offer 1:1 support for children who need a confidence boost. Working closely with the class teacher, you’ll model calm routines and help create the kind of classroom KS2 pupils feel proud to learn in.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Support pupils in lessons, clarifying activities and reinforcing instructions. Deliver short-group interventions in reading, writing, or maths. Provide focused 1:1 guidance to pupils needing additional encouragement. Assist teachers with preparation, classroom routines, and positive behaviour strategies.

Desired Experience + Qualifications

- Experience supporting children in KS2 or upper primary classes. - Confident guiding pupils through tasks and building independence. - Good communication skills and a positive, steady classroom presence. - Ready to follow safeguarding expectations and contribute to a supportive staff team.
