Job Description
A specialist setting in Worcestershire is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a small class of 10 pupils across Years 1–3. The pupils have a range of needs including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), so this role is ideal for someone with strong SEND experience and a calm, nurturing approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Support pupils across Years 1–3 within a small specialist class
- Provide classroom and small group support tailored to pupils with SLD and ASD
- Assist with communication, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Work closely with the class teacher and SEND team
- Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Desired Experience + Qualifications
- Experience supporting pupils with ASD and/or SLD
- Previous classroom or SEND school experience
- Patient, resilient, and nurturing approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
