Job Description

A well-established primary academy in Warwickshire (CV22) is seeking an experienced and committed Attendance & Welfare Officer. This role is central to raising attendance, supporting vulnerable pupils and families, and ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed effectively. You will work closely with senior leaders, pastoral teams, and external agencies to remove barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Attendance & Compliance

  • Monitor and analyse attendance data
  • Conduct home visits and liaise with families
  • Work alongside the Education Welfare Service
  • Support legal processes and early help referrals

Welfare & Safeguarding

  • Support pupils at risk of disaffection
  • Deliver targeted 1:1 or small group interventions
  • Assist the DSL/DDSL with safeguarding procedures
  • Act as a key link between school, families, and agencies

Desired Experience + Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent
  • GCSE English & Maths (A–C or equivalent)
  • Strong administrative and data skills (Excel essential)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and data protection
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage confidential information
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
