We have an opportunity for a Clinical Pharmacist to join their team of staff in the Pharmacy Department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

The role will be based at The Saxon Clinic however the successful candidate will also be required to work at The Manor Hospital.

Duties of this role include:

  • Conduct medication reviews for inpatients and outpatients, identifying interactions, contraindications, and opportunities for medicines optimisation.
  • Provide tailored advice to patients on their treatment plans, including side effects, compliance, and lifestyle considerations.
  • Support safe prescribing through reconciliation, clinical screening, and dose adjustment
  • Review and authorise prescriptions in line with clinical guidelines, formulary restrictions, and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote safe and cost-effective use of medicines by supporting adherence to local and national policies.
  • Collaborate with procurement, stock control, and pharmacy technicians to ensure medicine availability and supply continuity.
  • Monitor and report medication incidents, near misses, and adverse drug reactions in line with hospital protocols and MHRA guidance.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • A degree in Pharmacy MPharm, BSc or BPharm.
  • GPhC registration as a Pharmacist.
  • Previous experience in a clinical hospital pharmacy role.
  • Strong knowledge of therapeutics, clinical guidelines, and pharmaceutical legislation.
  • Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Confident using electronic prescribing and medication administration systems (e.g., EPMA).
