The Alexandra Hospital is seeking a Specialist Nurse to join their team in the Cancer Services department on a bank basis. Responsibilities include acting as a clinical expert in cancer pathways, undertaking specialist assessments, providing emotional support, and ensuring compliance with guidelines. Salary: Up to £24.44 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Specialist Nurse to join their team of staff in the Cancer Services department.
This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Duties of this role include:
- Act as a clinical expert in cancer pathways, supporting diagnosis, treatment, follow-up and survivorship care.
- Undertake specialist assessments, contributing to holistic care planning, symptom management and ongoing review.
- Provide emotional, psychological and practical support to patients and carers throughout the cancer journey.
- Work closely with Consultants, MDT members, allied health professionals and support services to deliver coordinated care.
- Ensure practice is compliant with national guidance, professional standards and [Employer hidden] Group policies.
- Keep up to date with advances in oncology practice, maintaining professional knowledge and skills.
Applicants should meet the following criteria: (What do you have?)
- Registered Nurse (Adult) with valid NMC registration.
- Significant post-registration experience in Oncology and/or Haematology nursing.
- Evidence of specialist knowledge in cancer care pathways and symptom management.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, patient safety and quality frameworks.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development.
