Complementary Therapist (Bank) Chiltern Hospital Bank Shifts Salary: Up to £25.00 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Complementary Therapist to join their team of staff in the Oncology department.

This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Duties of this role include:

  • Provide a range of complementary therapies (e.g. massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, reiki, or acupuncture) in accordance with your qualifications and scope of practice.
  • Tailor treatments to the individual needs and preferences of patients, considering physical, emotional, and clinical factors.
  • Undertake holistic assessments to ensure safe and appropriate treatment planning.
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, offering reassurance and maintaining dignity and respect at all times.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of therapy sessions in line with organisational and data protection policies.
  • Work in line with infection prevention and control measures, safeguarding responsibilities, and health and safety regulations.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Recognised qualification in one or more complementary therapies (e.g. massage, aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki, acupuncture).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. FHT, CNHC, AOR, BCMA).
  • Experience delivering therapies in a healthcare, hospice, or wellbeing setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic, calm, and patient-focused approach to care.
