We are seeking an College Assessor Trainer to join our team. In this role you will train and assess Welding & Fabrication subjects for full-time students to support progression to employment. You will also ensure that workshops are maintained in a safe operational condition, that all teaching and learning related materials are prepared in a timely manner.

Job title: College Assessor Trainer - Professional Construction, Engineering and Manufacturing

Part time, 22.5 hours a week, 52 weeks a year, £31284.24 - £35228.44 FTE

About the role:

  • Evaluate and improve the quality of learning and teaching within your delivery utilising and engaging with the college’s development and observation programmes.
  • Maintain workshop, equipment and tools to the highest standards ensuring statutory requirements are met.
  • Competently and professionally liaise with customers and employers.
  • Maintain an effective and timely stock control system of materials and consumables including the ordering of tools and equipment.
  • Contribute to the work of programme teams, committees and boards as appropriate.
  • Carry out and oversee practical community or college projects ensuring high standards of work are maintained at all times.

Essential Experience:

  • Significant industrial experience in a welding & fabrication environment.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Teaching Qualification(Award in Education L3) or willingness to complete within 3 years
  • Level 2 qualification in English and Mathematics GCSE 4+ or C and above / CSE Level 1 / O-Level C or above / Level 2 Adult Numeracy or Literacy or equivalent
  • Teaching Qualification(Award in Education L3) or willingness to complete within 3 years
