FULL DESCRIPTION

Assist with fulfilling the statutory responsibilities of the Tech Services Department. Carry out duties requested by senior members of the Technical Services Department. Probe safety cover holes, exploration probe holes and map production developments and issue mining instructions. Extend survey lines, mark up turnoff positions, maintain levelling circuits and carry out scans of mine workings. Download any data collected and update the database and plans as necessary. Install and monitor any geotechnical monitoring device. Monitor and record convergence measurements. Maintain existing telltales and replace any damaged telltales.

  • Assist with fulfilling the statutory responsibilities of the Tech Services Department.
  • Carry out any duties within their experience and competence requested by any senior member of the Technical Services Department.
  • Probe safety cover holes, exploration probe holes and map production developments and issue mining instructions.
  • Probe exploration and ‘up’ probe holes in salt development roadways where necessary.
  • Liaise with production overseers and Geology/Production management to ensure optimised, safe orebody extraction in compliance with Manager’s Rules 13 and 13a.
  • Extend survey lines, mark up turnoff positions, maintain levelling circuits and carry out scans of mine workings.
  • Download any data collected and update the database and plans as necessary.
  • Install and monitor any geotechnical monitoring device, for example, extensometer vibrating wire stress monitors etc.
  • Monitor and record convergence measurements.
  • Maintain existing telltales and replace any damaged telltales.
