FULL DESCRIPTION
The Photography Assistant will work closely with the Photography department assisting staff and pupils with the technical and practical aspects of Photography. Responsibilities include assisting during lessons, developing activities, providing access to the darkroom and studio, and introducing new technologies like AI and VR.
Main Duties:
- Assist during lessons, specifically Year 10 and Year 12, supporting lessons and helping pupils with a wide range of photographic skills, from lighting, dark room book making and animation the list goes on.
- Assist with and develop activities outside lesson time, contributing to the expansion of the current weekly offering.
- Provide greater access and supervision in the darkroom and studio during the activity periods, allowing exam groups greater access outside of allocated lessons.
- Introduce and support the use of AI, video editing, and virtual reality, considering alternative photographic processes and practices with sustainability in mind.

Qualifications and experience required for this role:
Qualification in Photography or Media Arts, or a related field, or relevant experience working in the photography and/or media industries with excellent technical skills.
This role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the college. The post holder will be expected to participate in this process and we would aim to reach agreement to the changes.
