FULL DESCRIPTION

As the Nominated Individual, you’ll be the main contact for Ofsted, ensuring the service meets all legal, regulatory, and safeguarding standards. You’ll support the Registered Service Manager and Director to drive excellence and young person-led practice.

Key Duties:

  • Act as Nominated Individual under Ofsted for supported accommodation
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws (e.g. Supported Accommodation Regs 2023, Care Standards Act 2000, Children Act 1989)
  • Lead quality assurance, audits, safeguarding, and service improvements
  • Support and supervise the Registered Manager
  • Liaise with local authorities, commissioners, and safeguarding partners
  • Promote young people’s voice and rights in service delivery

Ideal for a seasoned social care professional seeking a flexible, part-time leadership role in a values-led organisation.

Essential Criteria:

  • 2+ years in a leadership role within social care or supported accommodation
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted, safeguarding laws, and regulatory frameworks
  • Proven staff management, supervision, and governance experience
  • Excellent written, verbal, organisational, and decision-making skills
  • Familiar with digital care/record-keeping systems
  • Enhanced DBS required
  • Experience handling safeguarding investigations/incidents

Desirable:

  • Level 5 Leadership & Management qualification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Prior experience as a Nominated Individual or similar governance role
  • Experience supporting or managing Registered Managers
  • Background working with care leavers or vulnerable young people (16+)
