Job Description

This R&D is for [Employer hidden]’s most ambitious show to date: ‘HOT in HeRe’. There will be a strong connection to music that will give the energy of a concert. It will be highly physical and interactive involving creating characters and identities and will not have the feeling of a usual contemporary dance show. This will be the second R&D with the intention of creation and premiere in 2025. This R&D is supported by the place.

Who we are looking for

[Employer hidden] are looking for two/three dancers to join the R&D process for ‘HOT in HeRe’. Think 90’s fashion, dreams of being in a boyband and oversized EVERYTHING.

We are seeking female identifying and non-binary performers who are connected to ways of dancing that would usually be interpreted as stereotypically masculine.

Dancers must be highly skilled in contemporary, commercial, floor work and have a high understanding of musicality.

We are particularly interested in hearing from commercial dancers who have a high level of floor work.

We are also interested in hearing from Musical Theatre performers who connect to the theme and have a high level of physical skill.

Dates

Audition at The Place: 16th June 2024

10:00 - 13:00 First round (smaller groups)

14:00 - 18:00 Recalls

R&D Period: 15th – 19th & 22th – 26th July 2024

The Place (16 Flaxman Terrace, London, WC1H 9AT) is located between Kings Cross St. Pancras and Euston stations and has gender neutral bathrooms and changing facilities.

Fee

The dancer role will be paid at £600 per week plus holiday pay during the R&D period + travel, accommodation and per diems if required (this will be discussed on a case by case basis)
