Factory Technical Manager

Main purpose of the role is to lead the Quality Assurance, ensure that daily routines delivered by the team comply with all relevant Cranswick Manufacturing Standard, legislation and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the practical application of the sites Quality Management systems to ensure product quality, safety, integrity, and legality is maintained at all times.
- Accountable for the quality assurance and compliance functions of the site meeting company, legislative, customer and 3rd party accreditation body standards.
- Ensuring that the quality assurance teams are adequately trained and that any further training needs are identified.
- Participate in site HACCP, Integrity, Allergen and Internal audit programs.
- Ensures that technical resource is available for involvement in trials associated with Technical, NPD, Engineering, Manufacturing, Packaging, Hygiene, etc.
- Coaching of operations, engineering and QA teams to drive food safety culture onsite as well as ensure they understand the tasks they are completing and how their role contributes to food safety.
- The provision of suitable technical resource to lead site technical audits and visits, ensuring the factory is always audit ready, delivery of the brilliant basics plan
- Ensuring all factory specs / QAS are in place and being followed
- Governance of the sites micro result and investigation of out of specification results and driving continued improvement to reduce and where possible eliminate identified trends.
- Drive continuous improvement within the site, continually pushing the food safety and quality standards. Challenge status quo and pursue continuous improvement activities where necessary
- Accountable for ensuring that complaint, internal non-conformances and audit related non conformances are completed in a timely, yet thorough manner, with root cause analysis completed and documented and preventative actions implemented to either reduce or eliminate the risk of recurrence where possible.
- Leads independent projects as and when the need arises, ensuring that all company, legislative, customer and 3rd party accreditation body standards are considered.
- Participate in the process design, validation and implement of any additional system requirements.
