About the role

At Perk, we believe in empowering cross-functional teams that drive exceptional results for our customers and the company. We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the Payments Group within the Spend & Control alliance.

Payments is a strategic product area that directly impacts revenue, cost-to-serve, customer trust, and scalability. The group’s scope spans the money movement platform powering the Perk ecosystem to the customer checkout and subscription management experiences. This product area is a key enabler for other squads and product lines at Perk. Payments have to be reliable and easy to operate in order to enable the business while also providing customers with a frictionless payments experience.

In this group you will lead a critical area of our payments product, and we are looking for strong candidates with proven backgrounds working in payments or payment-adjacent areas.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the strategy: Define the mission and roadmap for your squad, aligned to company goals (revenue, reliability, margin, and customer trust).
  • Partner deeply cross-functionally: Work closely with Engineering, Design, Data, Ops, Finance and other product teams to deliver outcomes end-to-end.
  • Advocate for the end user: Maintain a high bar for a seamless and intuitive payments experience for customers.
  • Own integrations and external dependencies: Work with PSPs/acquirers/banks/providers when relevant; manage constraints and tradeoffs.
  • Improve payment performance: Drive measurable improvements in success rate, latency, failure handling, and operational load.
  • Scale financial operations through product: Reduce manual work required to process payments, refunds and reconciliation within Perk.
  • Be the domain expert: Provide answers, create training materials, and ensure product documentation is up-to-date for your ownership area.
  • Empower your team: Lead with a servant-leadership approach: help the team stay focused, remove distractions, and foster creativity and collaboration.
  • Level up the product function: Continuously learn and share insights with colleagues to help build a world-class product team.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience: 7+ years in tech with 5+ years in Product Management (or equivalent scope).
  • Payments domain strength: Proven experience in at least one core payment area (e.g., payments processing & orchestration, payment methods, subscription management) and familiarity with financial concepts (e.g., reconciliation, invoicing).
  • B2B mindset: Comfortable solving complex problems involving finance stakeholders and enterprise expectations.
  • User-centric problem solving: High degree of customer empathy that informs approach to problem-solving and solutions.
  • Strong execution and systems thinking: Able to break down complex systems into incremental deliveries that compound over time with high agency.
  • Technical fluency: Can partner effectively with engineers on APIs, reliability, edge cases, and external provider constraints.
  • Metrics-driven: Able to define clear success metrics, including leading indicators and guardrails.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Aligns teams and makes tradeoffs stick, even under pressure.

At Perk, we take an IRL-first approach to work, where our team works together in-person 3 days a week. As such, this role requires you to be based within commuting distance of our hubs.
