FULL DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Test & Development Technician to join our team on a 6-month contract based at our Head Office in Shirley.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, set up, and conduct DVP testing in line with customer specifications and internal standards

  • Support testing activities for programmes

  • Record, analyse, and document test results accurately and clearly

  • Ensure all test equipment is calibrated, maintained, and fit for purpose

  • Assist in fault finding, root cause investigation, and reporting

  • Service and maintain existing fleet vehicles used for development and validation

  • Prepare vehicles and systems for testing activities

  • Support installation, instrumentation, and data acquisition activities

  • Support readiness activities for upcoming site works and department improvements

  • Assist with workshop organisation, equipment setup, and process optimisation

  • Provide flexible technical support across the department as required

  • Travel as required to support customer sites, test facilities, and programme needs

  • Represent the Test & Development department professionally when working with external partners

  • Service and maintain the development fleet

  • Assist with Pre-Beta activities for Bosch

  • Contribute to workshop and facility improvements

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in automotive test & development or validation environments

  • Practical hands-on experience with vehicle systems, instrumentation, and testing equipment

  • Understanding of DVP testing processes

  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical diagnostic skills

  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and test specifications

  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting OEM or Tier 1 supplier programmes

  • Familiarity with data logging and analysis tools

  • Experience working directly with customer engineering teams
