Part-Time Parish Administrator – [Employer hidden]

The Church of St John the Evangelist in Hedge End has a vacancy for a part-time parish administrator. This is an office-based position, two days a week: Thursdays and Fridays from 9am until 1pm both days. A bit of flexibility is occasionally required to cover illness or unexpected absences.

The office is in the Underhill Centre, adjacent to the church, at 76 St John’s Road, Hedge End, Southampton, SO30 4AF.

The successful applicant must:

• Have a strong attention to detail
• Have good organisational skills
• Be friendly and out-going as the position involves dealing with members of the public via telephone or in person as well as communicating with the Diocese of Winchester
• Be conscious of the need for confidentiality and adhering to GDPR rules
• Be computer-literate with reading, writing and responding to emails, and working with attachments to emails
• Competent with the Microsoft Office suite of products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Have standard office skills such as typing, using a photo-copier, filing paperwork, and ordering supplies

The target start date is mid to late October of 2023 although this is negotiable. Training will be provided.

Salary is £11.70 per hour plus contributions to a pension fund.
