They are now looking for a Health and Safety Manager to join the team. You will be at the heart of a busy, high‑performing site driving safe working practices, leading improvements, and shaping a positive safety culture. You'll take ownership of audits, training, compliance, and incident reviews while working closely with managers and safety teams to keep standards high. This role would suit candidates with 3+ years of industrial experience in H&S within the chemicals industry or the waste industry and are looking to take a step up in their career.

Working Hours: 37.5 working hours per week, Monday to Friday, 24 days holiday + statutory bank holidays. Access to Rewards Gateway offering excellent discounts and cash back with many large retailers.

Role/Description

  • Leading on-site safety practices, carrying out regular site inspections and audits and enforce a safety first culture.
  • Providing hands‑on training, guidance, and coaching to help teams work safely and confidently.
  • Act as a key member of the management team, leading by example and supporting high safety standards.
  • Monitor and audit compliance with site health and safety policies and procedures, analyse data to identify trends and maintain safeguarding procedures
  • Manage hazard and near miss reporting, audits, behavioural surveys, and conduct incident reviews
  • Acting as the site lead for fire safety, ensuring inspections and prevention plans are always up to date.
  • Managing contractor and visitor inductions, reviewing RAMS, and supporting safe site traffic and operations.

Requirements

  • A NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum) and experience in a health & safety role, ideally within waste, manufacturing or closely related field
  • A full UK driving licence and own means of transport
  • Full right to work in the UK, there is no sponsorship available with this role
