[Employer hidden] are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician - Chemistry Automation to join a pioneering drug discovery and technology company who are based near Didcot on a permanent basis.

Company: Our client are a pioneering company working to reduce the failure rate of traditional drug discovery

Location: The role is based near Didcot and is site based.

Role:

  • Enable high-throughput chemistry workflows by ensuring the reliable execution of automated and SOP-driven laboratory processes to support synthesis, analytical, purification, and NMR operations.
  • Dispense chemicals into vials and dosing heads, load reactants and consumables onto automated platforms and prepare stock solutions and solvents.
  • Receive, barcode, register, and store chemicals, transport samples and submit pre-defined instrument jobs and manage consumables inventory and reordering.
  • Prepare solvents, buffers, and system suitability test mixtures.
  • Submit and manage LCMS and NMR samples using predefined workflows and maintain NMR systems, including sample handling and liquid nitrogen refills.
  • Perform routine instrument maintenance (e.g., filters, guard columns) and troubleshoot basic instrument errors and perform resets.
  • Monitor system performance and take instruments offline when required.
  • Load/unload instruments and manage consumables.
  • Perform waste handling and disposal and maintain the cleanliness and organization of laboratory spaces.

Your Background:

  • Educated to degree level in Chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience working in a similar laboratory or technical operations environment.
  • Ability to follow detailed SOPs with high accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
  • Comfortable working with automated laboratory systems.
