[Employer hidden] are recruiting for a Laboratory Technician - Biology Automation to join a pioneering drug discovery and technology company who are based near Didcot on a permanent basis.
Company: Our client are a pioneering company working to reduce the failure rate of traditional drug discovery
Location: The role is based near Didcot and is site based.
Role:
- Enable the seamless operation of automated biology platforms by maintaining the flow of materials, reagents, and data across systems.
- Barcode consumables and maintain accurate records, restock labware and reagents across automated systems and manage inventory and reorder consumables.
- Receive and distribute materials from stores and transport assay materials and compounds between teams.
- Perform routine instrument maintenance.
- Monitor and troubleshoot automation systems, responding to errors and support hardware maintenance and troubleshooting for automated systems.
- Maintain cleanliness of automation space and equipment.
- Prepare reagents, buffers, media, stock solutions and aliquots and support automated assay execution.
- Support biochemical and cell-based assay workflows.
- Maintain and culture mammalian cell lines.
- Perform QC testing and data recording.
- Manage hazardous waste in compliance with safety protocols.
- Assist with freezer maintenance and liquid nitrogen refills.
Your Background:
- Educated to degree level in Biology, Biological Sciences or a related field.
- Experience working in a similar Biology laboratory
- Familiarity with biochemical or cell-based assays
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs
- Experience with pipetting, buffer preparation, and basic lab techniques.
- Experience troubleshooting laboratory equipment.
- Experience with laboratory automation platforms and familiarity with inventory and laboratory management systems.
